LAUREN RUTLIN is a producer and arts administrator focused on creating and supporting innovative theater productions. Recently, she produced the nine-day 2011 Line Breaks Festival at the Overture Center for the Arts in Madison, Wisconsin, which featured more than a dozen original theatrical productions and several world premieres. She is currently working with writer-performer Rafael Casal on his solo work The Limp. Lauren also leads the Event Planning and Sales office at the University of Wisconsin-Extension Conference Centers, working to promote the Wisconsin Idea through educational events.
A graduate of New York University, Lauren created her own concentration in media, politics and social change. Her past professional opportunities include work with a political campaign, a consulting firm, two universities, a New York City non-profit and a law firm. One of her favorite experiences was co-hosting a children’s television show, which was her first opportunity to travel, meet and get to know a diverse array of people, and help young people tell their stories. When she's not working to bring great art to great communities, Lauren is most likely to be found checking out the newest New York theater or analyzing and discussing everything political.
